Agricultural area case study

This case study involves spatially and temporarily continuous monitoring of soil moisture in an agricultural area using satellite remote sensing techniques. The aim is to regulate the nitrogen fertilizer usage to prevent environmental pollution, with end users including scientists, decision makers, farmers, and irrigation unions. Linked authorities include local municipalities and the local and regional government, with the goal of providing time series data about soil moisture and soil organic carbon in agricultural areas. Research to be developed includes GIS mapping and satellite images for the estimation of soil humidity capacity, with involved partners including UVIC, UNIVPM/VRAI, and TUBITAK MRC.
