SMART4ENV at EU Green Week 2024: Advancing Water Resilience in Europe with EIPA Training at ROST Office Brussels

Date

SMART4ENV is proud to announce its participation in EU Green Week 2024 , a pivotal event focused on creating a more water-resilient Europe. The event, themed “Towards a Water-Resilient Europe,” will be live-streamed from Brussels on May 29th and 30th.

The Urgency of Water Resilience

Water, a fundamental resource for both humanity and the environment, is under increasing threat. The escalating frequency of natural disasters like droughts and floods, coupled with decades of mismanagement, pollution, and climate change, has amplified the EU’s water challenges. The delicate balance of the water cycle is disrupted, with climate change and biodiversity loss exacerbating the crisis.

SMART4ENV’s Role

SMART4ENV, a project dedicated to enhancing scientific capacity in smart environmental technologies, recognizes the critical need for innovative solutions to address these water-related challenges. Mr. Leonardo Piccinetti, CEO of SITES and a key member of SMART4ENV’s dissemination and communication W.P, represented the project at EU Green Week. In line with the EU Green Week’s objectives, SMART4ENV’s participation aligns with its commitment to capacity building, as demonstrated by its collaboration with the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) in training Romanian administrators on climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies.

EU Green Week: A Platform for Change

EU Green Week serves as a vital platform for raising awareness, fostering dialogue, and promoting European environmental policy. This high-level event brings together policymakers, environmental leaders, stakeholders, and concerned individuals from across Europe and the world.
