SMART4ENV Study Visit to Ireland

The SMART4ENV study visit to Ireland, held from 30 June to 4 July 2025, aimed to explore best practices in research project management, understand the role of institutional support structures in research and innovation, gain insights into internationalisation, stakeholder engagement, and impact assessment, and strengthen collaboration between Irish, Spanish, and Turkish R&I stakeholders. This peer-learning experience was tailored for administrative professionals in research support and strategic planning roles, advancing the main project goal: Enhancing the Scientific Capacity of TUBITAK Marmara Research Center in the Field of Smart Environmental Technologies for Climate Change Challenges.

SMART4ENV Kick-Off Meeting Launched in Dublin at SITES Ltd.
On 1 July 2025, SITES Ltd. hosted the SMART4ENV kick-off meeting at their headquarters in the Ormond Building, Dublin 7, marking the start of a transformative study visit to Ireland. The event united key partners, including Dr. Samet Feyyaz Hamamci from TUBITAK Marmara Research Center, Türkiye, Gustavo Pérez González from the Autonomous University of Barcelona UAB, Spain, and SITES Ltd. team members Leonardo Piccinetti, Margaret Ridge, and Francisco Garcia Sites, alongside Anna Gabriella Piccinetti from REDINN SRL., Italy. Discussions centered on project objectives, collaboration frameworks, and strategies for advancing smart environmental technologies. This meeting aligned with the study visit’s aims by fostering best practices in research project management and strengthening ties among Irish, Spanish, and Turkish stakeholders. By setting a collaborative tone, the event significantly impacted SMART4ENV, enhancing TUBITAK Marmara Research Center’s capacity to address climate change challenges through innovative solutions. SITES Ltd.’s expertise in networking and innovation was crucial in driving this milestone forward.
