SMART4ENV is pleased to share news about the upcoming EARSeL 2026 Symposium, which will take place in Athens, Greece, gathering leading researchers, institutions, and practitioners in the field of Earth Observation and remote sensing.
The EARSeL (European Association of Remote Sensing Laboratories) annual symposium is one of Europe’s most important scientific events focused on environmental monitoring, satellite technologies, climate change observation, and innovative applications of remote sensing.
The 2026 edition, hosted in Athens, will provide a unique platform for knowledge exchange through keynote speeches, technical sessions, workshops, and interdisciplinary discussions. It will bring together experts from academia, industry, and public organisations working on sustainable environmental management, climate resilience, and smart monitoring tools.
As a project focused on smart environmental solutions, SMART4ENV recognises the importance of Earth Observation technologies in supporting policy-making, data-driven decision support systems, and climate adaptation strategies. Remote sensing is a key enabler for improving water resource management, air quality analysis, coastal monitoring, and environmental risk assessment — all priority areas within our project.
SMART4ENV encourages its community, researchers, and partners to explore the Symposium programme, contribute to discussions, and engage with the broader European network of environmental innovation.
