The event opened with welcome remarks from:

  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abit Balin (TÜBİTAK MAM), emphasizing the importance of institutional capacity building
  • Veysel Selimoğlu (Ministry of Environment, Türkiye), highlighting national climate priorities

Keynote contributions included:

  • Dr. Richard Elelman (EURECAT), who addressed the importance of bridging science, policy, and society to tackle climate challenges
  • Sylvia Osipov (European Research Executive Agency – REA), who shared the European Commission perspective on strengthening research excellence
