SMART4ENV Presented at CEDIS3: Advancing Environmental Innovation Through International Twinning and Knowledge Sharing
Ankara, May 29, 2025 — The SMART4ENV project, a Horizon Europe-funded twinning initiative, was showcased at the CEDIS3 International Partnerships Workshop & Matchmaking Event, held on May 29–30, 2025, at the Grand Ankara Hotel in Türkiye.
SMART4ENV supports the TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) in strengthening its scientific excellence and institutional capacity in environmental technologies. The project builds bridges between leading research institutions in Europe and Türkiye to promote excellence in multidisciplinary environmental R&I, knowledge transfer, and collaborative innovation.
The project was represented by Sustainable Innovation Technology Services (SITES), which plays a pivotal role as:
- Leader of the Dissemination, Communication and Networking Work Package
- Contributor to WP2 on defining the multidisciplinary research programme, summer schools, and MOOCs
- Contributor to WP5, developing the sustainability strategy and clustering plan for long-term project impact
At CEDIS3, SITES presented SMART4ENV’s objectives and tools for supporting research networking, scientific outreach, and strategic alliances aligned with Smart Specialisation Strategies (S3). The project’s emphasis on capacity building, knowledge exchange, and sustainability was well aligned with CEDIS3’s matchmaking goals and attracted the interest of Turkish regional agencies and international partners.
SMART4ENV also contributes to broader environmental goals through training activities, joint research planning, and stakeholder engagement, helping position TÜBİTAK MAM and its partners as leaders in Europe’s green transition.
